Zilla Panchayath Engineering Division

Zilla Panchayath Engineering Division, Chickmagalur functions under Zilla Panchayath, Chickmagalur. The Executive Engineer heads this division office. It  has seven sub-divisions each at taluk head quarters, namely Chickmagalur, Kadur, Koppa, Mudigere, N.R.Pura, Sringeri & Tarikere officiated by Assistant Executive Engineer of respective taluks.  Prime responsibility of this division is to execute the New Water Supply Schemes, Roads & Bridges, Buildings and Minor Irrigation Works approved by the Zilla Panchayath.

During natural calamities like drought or floods, this division will rise to the occasion to carryout preventive and repairs measures to take care the properties of Zilla Panchayath.  

Minor Irrigation:-

 Minor Irrigation tanks having atchkat of less than 40 Hectares are maintained by Zilla Panchayath Engg. Division more than 1668 Minor Irrigation tanks and 181 pickup having an atchkat of 20649 Hectares.

 For 2001-02 under non plan Rs. 35,36 lakhs., budget provisions is made for which 22.38 lakhs in released and Rs. 19.79 lakhs spent to-date for maintainances  the taml.

 Under Plan heads Rs. 22.00 laksh has allotted during year 2001-02 Rs. 13.23 lakhs is released an Rs. 17.92 lakhs spent to date for M.I. works.
