Farms and Nurseries:-

The district has 15 Horticultural Farms/Nurseries under the control of Karnataka State Horticultural Agency(KSHDA). These Farms/Nurseries were established for the following noble objective.

·         To demonstrate the cultivation of various Horticultural crops in theses  farms/nurseries and through which motivate the farmers for taking up commercial cultivation of these crops.

·         To develop these Farms and Nurseries as the centers of propagation of quality planting materials and to supply  and make available  to the farming community.

·         To develop them as the centers of introduction and acclimatization of new types and varieties of Horticultural crops, in order to find out their suitability to the specific agro-climatic conditions.

Therefore, in tune with the objectives, these Farms and Nurseries have been serving the farming community since their inception, When we look from these angle, there is no doubt that theses Farms and Nurseries have largely fulfilled the purpose for which they have been established.
