Rural Industries 

The department  intends  to  provide  technical & Marketing support to  artisans  working  in the different  part of the district. Specially artisans working in wood carving, black smith, Bee- keeping, General Engineering, & such as non-agro  based activities in the rural areas of the district.

 Schemes :-

  1) Rural Artisan Programme:- In this  programme, subsidy  given to rural  artisans for construction  of living cum work sheds. Unit cost is Rs. 40000-00, & subsidy is Rs. 16,000-00

 2) Interest Subsidy  to Rural Artisans:- Interest  subsidy  will be provided for artisans those who are availing loan  from financial institutions (With in 2.00 lakhs) 5% Above the 7% on the rate of Interest  will be given as Interest Subsidy.

 3) Seminars & exibitions :- Seminars & exhibitions are also conducted at Hobli & Taluk Level to highlight  the  department's schemes, incentives, concessions & to provide marketing Assistance  to rural artisans.

 4) Bee-keeping:- Seven days training  in  the  Bee-keeping with the association of voluntary organisations  will  be  given under  Annual  Bee-keeping  plan.

 5) Special Component Plan & Tribal Sub Plan:- special  Schemes are also being Implemented on the above line for schedule cast & schedule Tribes under this plan. In which  the Artisans get  a benefit of 60% subsidy  maximum of 24,000-00 for Construction of Living cum Work sheds.

        The ARTISAN TRAINING INSTITUTE comes under zilla panchayath, training is given to rural  unemployed  beneficiaries  in the crafts like Carpentry, Black smith, & Rattan for a period of 2 years , 2 years, 1 &1/2 years respectively . Stipend of Rs 300/- per month is given to these Beneficiaries.

Documents to be submitted by an artisan for Living cum work sheds, Under rural artisan programme, special component plan & Tribal sub plan

1)     Application  with  photo

2)     Documents for having their own sites

3)     Plan   & estimate approved by  an engineer

4)     Caste certificate ( for s.c.p & t.s.p programmes)

5)     Licence from gram panchayath for construction of living cum work sheds.

6)     Gram sabha resolutions.

7)     Declaration from beneficiaries for not having  houses Under any government sponsored schemes.
