IT. IN  Programme at Chickmagalur

          The IT. IN  event Inaugarated on 26-10-2005 by Honourable Deputy Commissioner of Chickmagalur Sri Harsh Gupta I.A.S.  The event aimed at bringing rural students to the boundless knowledge of  internet and its applications.  The programme arranged at (1) A.I.T. Engineering College, Chickmagalur (2) 34 Mahithi Sindhu Schools  from 26-10-2005 to  29-10-2005.

          At A.I.T. Engineering College, around 70 high end computer systems brought to internet connectivity by the active participation of BSNL and NICNET Chickmagalur. Browsing speed of 2MBPS  connectivity provided to the students for accessing the website. At 34 mahithi sindhu schools, dial up connection from BSNL and NICNET provided.

          The event organized by the District Administration with the participation of Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Chickmagalur and  National Informatics Centre, Chickmagalur. 2400 students participated for mela at District Head Quarters (AIT Engineering College, Chickmagalur) and 13,600 students participated  the mela in all Mahithi Sindhu Schools.  The students are explained with the internet and its application through a slid show of 30m minutes duration and subsequently they are allowed to browse the internet for various pieces of information.
